concerning
Defence Innovation Partnership
Sweden is committed to support Ukraine in its fi ght against Russia’s unlawful war on Ukraine. Meanwhile, Sweden is building its own defence capabilities against a worsening security situation and possible future military aggressions in Europe. The modern war evolves with the speed of innovation from battlefield experience to production. Ukraine’s fight against Russia’s unlawful war has hence gained a world leading position in defence innovation with a continuous development from battlefield experience. Sweden recognizes Ukraine’s first - hand experience of quickly developing defence technology during war and incorporate battlefield testing and war fi ghter experience into the innovation. Ukraine recognizes that Sweden has long and extensive experience of industrialisation and modern production. Therefore, Sweden and Ukraine are decisive to: a) Deepen the exchange between Sweden’s and Ukraine’s defence innovation and industrial ecosystems
b) Sweden and Ukraine also recognize the need for scaling production and building resilient and adaptable production systems for defence materiel
c) Support the establishment of a Defence Innovation Hub in Ukraine aimed at supporting the Ukrainian and Swedish defence innovation landscape
d) Leverage Sweden’s advanced technological R&D and industrial capabilities and Ukraine’s battlefield experience to develop solutions to emerging battlefield challenges.
e) Explore joint projects under the Build with Ukraine initiative to scale the production of innovative Ukrainian products
2f) Exchange innovative solutions and experiences to industrialize production and increase the production output g) Jointly promote possible jointly -designed battlefield -proven innovative solutions and products to other allied, friendly and like-minded nations h) The Parties will explore concluding further agreements, as required, to further their partnership in innovation activities
This Letter of Intent does not establish a legally binding or financial commitment between the Governments of Ukraine and Sweden under international or national law.
