D etta tilläggsprotokolls sig n atärstater, m ed­ lem m ar av E uroparådet,

vilka utgår från den europeiska konven­ tionen om skydd av djur u nder internationella tran sp o rte r, h är nedan kallad ” konven­ tio n en ” , som öppnades för undertecknande i Paris den 13 decem ber 1968 av E uro p aråd ets m edlem sstater och som innehåller gem en­ sam m a bestäm m elser av sed d a att skydda djur från lidande under tran sp o rt, vilka b eak tar att E uropeiska ekonom iska gem enskapen på grund av sin behörighet i frågor som faller u nder näm nda konvention bör kunna bli fördragsslutande part i d etta instrum ent, har kom m it överens om följande:

A rtikel 1 Artikel 48 i konventionen skall förses med följande tillägg: ” 4. E uropeiska ekonom iska gem enskapen kan bli fördragsslutande part i konventionen genom att underteckna den. A rtikel 3 Artikel 47, punkt 2, i konventionen skall förses med följande tillägg:

A rtikel 4 1. D etta tilläggsprotokoll är öppet för un­ d ertecknande av de m edlem sstater i E u ro p a­ rådet som har undertecknat konventionen, vilka kan tillträda det genom

a) undertecknande utan förbehåll för rati­ fikation, godtagande eller godkännande, eller b) undertecknande med förbehåll för ratifi­ kation, godtagande eller godkännande, följt av ratifikation, godtagande eller godkännan­ de. 2. S tate r som har anslutit sig till k onven­ tionen kan även ansluta sig till d etta tilläggs­ protokoll. 3. R atifikations-, godtagande-, godkän­ nande- eller anslutningsinstrum ent skall de­ poneras hos E uroparådets g en eralsek retera­ re.

Artikel 5 D etta tilläggsprotokoll träd e r i kraft så snart alla fördragsslutande p arte r i konven­ tionen har tillträtt d etta tilläggsprotokoll i en­ lighet med artikel 4.

Till bekräftelse härav har undertecknade, därtill vederbörligen bem yndigade, u nder­ tecknat d etta protokoll. U p p rättat i Strasbourg den 10 maj 1979 på engelska och franska, vilka båda te x ter äger lika vitsord, i ett enda exem plar, som skall förvaras i E uroparådets arkiv. E uroparådets generalsekreterare skall ö versända en be­ styrkt avskrift därav till varje stat som u nder­ tecknat eller anslutit sig till protokollet.
