av diplomatiska förbindelser

Regeringen beslutade den 2 april 1992 a tt ingå avtalet genom skriftväx­ ling. A vtalet träd d e i kraft den 3 april 1992.

Y our Excellency, P ursuant to instructions from th e M inistry for Foreign Affairs in Stock­ holm, 1 havé the honour to convey the wish o f th e G ov ern m en t o f the K ingdom o f Sweden to establish d iplom atic relations w ith the G o v ern ­ m ent o f Saint C hristopher and Nevis. T he G overnm ent o f th e K ingdom o f Sweden desirous to strengthen and develop relations between Sweden and Saint C hristo p h er and N evis proposes th at diplom atic relations be established betw een Sweden an d Saint C hristopher and N evis, and th a t the V ienna C o n vention on D iplom atic R elations o f 18 April 1961 shall apply to d iplom atic relations and the V ienna C onvention on C onsular R elations o f 24 April 1963 shall apply to consular relations between o u r two States. If the content o f this N ote is acceptable to the G overnm ent o f Saint C hristopher and Nevis, I further havé the honour to propose th a t this N ote and the affirm ative reply o f the G overnm ent o f Saint C hristo p h er and N evis thereto, shall con stitu te an agreem ent betw een th e tw o G ovem m ents which will en ter into force on the d ate o f receipt o f yo u r reply. H err A m bassadör, Enligt in stru k tio n er från U trik esd ep artem en tet i Stockholm h a r jag äran m eddela K onungariket Sveriges regerings önskan att u p p rä tta diplo m atis­ ka förbindelser m ed Saint C hristophers och N evis regering. K onungariket Sveriges regering, som ö nskar befästa och utveckla fö rbin­ delserna m ellan Sverige och Saint C hristo p h er och N evis, föreslår a tt diplom atiska förbindelser u p p rättas m ellan Sverige och S aint C hristo p h er och N evis och a tt W ienkonventionen om d iplom atiska förbindelser av den 18 april 1961 skall gälla för de d iplom atiska förbindelserna och W ien­ konventionen om konsulära förbindelser av den 24 april 1963 för de konsulära förbindelserna m ellan våra båd a stater. Om innehållet i denna note kan godtas av S aint C hristophers och Nevis regering, h ar jag vidare äran föreslå att den n a no te och Saint C hristophers och N evis regerings bekräftande svar därp å skall utgöra ett avtal m ellan de båda regeringarna, vilket trä d e r i kraft dagen för m ottag an d et av E rt svar. Jag begagnar mig av d etta tillfälle att försäkra Er, H err A m bassadör, om m in u tm ä rk ta högaktning.

Y our Excellency 1 havé th e honour to acknowledge receipt o f your N ote d ated 2nd April, 1992, relating to the establishm ent o f diplom atic relations betw een the K ingdom o f Sweden and Saint C hristo p h er and Nevis. 1 havé the further hon o u r to confirm on behalf o f the G ov ern m en t o f Saint C hristopher and N evis, th a t the proposal in Y our Exceilency’s N ote is acceptable to th e G overnm ent o f S aint C hristopher and N evis, who therefore agree th a t Y our Excellency’s N ote an d this reply shall constitute an agreem ent the tw o G overnm ents, to establish diplom atic relations between Saint C hristopher and N evis and the K ingdom o f Sweden. Trusting th at the relationship now established between the tw o countries would fu rth er co ntribute to the strengthening o f friendship and coopera­ tion between ou r tw o nations. I avail m yuself o f this oppo rtu n ity to extend to you, Y our Excellency, the assurances o f my highest consideration.

H err A m bassadör, H ärm ed har jag äran erkänna m ottagandet av Er note av den 2 april 1992 angående u p p rättan d e av d iplom atiska förbindelser m ellan K onungariket Sverige och S aint C h risto p h er och Nevis. Jag h ar vidare äran att på uppdrag av Saint C hristophers och N evis regering bekräfta att förslaget i Er note kan godtas av S aint C hristophers och N evis regering, som d ärfö r sam tycker till att E r note och d etta svar skall utgöra ett avtal mellan de båd a regeringarna om att u p p rätta diplo­ m atiska förbindelser m ellan S aint C h risto p h er och N evis och K onungari­ ket Sverige. I hopp om att det förhållande som nu u p p rättats m ellan de båd a län d er­ na ytterligare skall bidra till att befästa vänskapen och sam arbetet mellan våra båd a nationer, begagnar jag mig av d etta tillfälle att försäkra Er, H err A m bassadör, om m in utm ärk ta högaktning.
