Regeringen beslutade den 2 april 1992 att ingå avtalet genom skriftväx­ ling. A vtalet träd d e i kraft den 3 april 1992.

Sveriges ambassadör till Saint Vincents och Grenadinernas ambassadör

Y our Excellency, P ursuant to instructions from the M inistry for Foreign Affairs in Stock­ holm , 1 havé th e honour to convey th e wish o f the G overnm ent o f the K ingdom o f Sweden to establish diplom atic relations w ith th e G ov ern ­ m ent o f Saint V incent and the G renadines. T he G overnm ent o f the Kingdom o f Sweden desirous to strengthen and develop relations between Sweden and Saint V incent and th e G renadines proposes th at diplom atic relations be established between Sweden and Saint V incent and the G renadines, and th at th e V ienna C onvention on D iplom atic R elations o f 18 April 1961 shall apply to d iplom atic relations and the V ienna C onvention on C onsular R elations o f 24 A pril 1963 shall apply to consular relations between o u r tw o States. If th e content o f this N ote is acceptable to the G overnm ent o f Saint V incent and the G renadines, I further havé th e h o n o u r to propose th a t this N ote and the affirm ative reply o f the G overnm ent o f Saint V incent and the G renadines thereto, shall co nstitute an agreem ent betw een the tw o G overnm ents which will en ter into force on the d ate o f receipt o f your reply. K onungariket Sveriges regering, som önskar befästa och utveckla fö rbin­ delserna m ellan Sverige och Saint V incent och G ren ad in ern a, föreslår att diplom atiska förbindelser u p p rättas m ellan Sverige och Saint V incent och G re n ad in ern a och att W ienkonventionen om d iplom atiska förbindelser av den 18 april 1961 skall gälla för de diplom atiska förbindelserna och W ien­ konventionen om konsulära förbindelser av den 24 april 1963 för de konsulära förbindelserna m ellan våra båd a stater. O m innehållet i denna note kan godtas av S aint V incents och G renadinernas regering, har jag vidare äran föreslå a tt denna note och Saint V incents och G re n ad in em a s regerings bekräftande svar d ärp å skall utgöra ett avtal m ellan de båda regeringarna, vilket trä d e r i kraft dagen för m ottagandet av Ert svar. Jag begagnar mig av d etta tillfälle a tt försäkra Er, H err A m bassadör, om m in u tm ä rk ta högaktning.

Y our Excellency I havé the hon o u r to acknowledge receipt o f your N ote d ated 2nd A pril, 1992, relating to th e establishm ent o f d iplom atic relations betw een the K ingdom o f Sweden and Saint V incent and th e G renadines. I havé the further ho n o u r to confirm on beh alf o f th e G overnm ent o f Saint V incent and the G renadines, th at th e proposal in Y our Excellency’s N ote is acceptable to the G overnm ent o f S aint V incent and the G renadines, who therefore agree th a t Y our Excellency’s N ote and th is reply shall constitute an agreem ent between the tw o G overnm ents, to establish diplo­ m atic relations between Saint V incent and th e G renadines and th e King­ dom o f Sweden. Trusting th at the relationship now established betw een the tw o countries would further contribute to the strengthening o f friendship and coopera­ tion between ou r tw o nations. I avail m yself o f this o p p o rtunity to extend to you, Y our Excellency, the assurances o f my highest consideration.
