COMMISSION REGULATION ( EEC) No 503/ 76 of 5 March 1976 supplementing Regulation (EEC) No 616/72 on detailed rules for the application of export refunds and levies on olive oil

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN to qualities of olive oil in respect of which there are COMMUNITIES, cash refunds ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Whereas Regulation (EEC) No 61 6/72 (6), as last Economic Community, amended by Regulation (EEC) No 3366/75 (7), should therefore be supplemented by a new Article 2 laying Having regard to Council Regulation No 136/ 66/ EEC down the necessary prerequisites for the granting of of 22 September 1966 on the common organization of an authorization to import free of levy ; the market in oils and fats ('), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 1707/73 (2), Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the Manage­ Having regard to Council Regulation No 162/66/ EEC ment Committee for Oils and Fats, of 27 October 1966 on trade in oils and fats between the Community and Greece (3), HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Having regard to Council Regulation No 171 /67/ EEC of 27 June 1967 on export refunds and levies on olive Article 1 oil (4), as last amended by Regulation ( EEC) No 2429/72 (5), and in particular Article 1 1 thereof, There shall be added to Regulation (EEC) No 616/72 the following Article : Whereas Regulation No 171 /67/ EEC states that in ' Article 2 order to maintain traditional trade patterns, export refunds may be granted either in the form of cash The authorization to import free of levy, referred refunds or in the form of an authorization to import, to in Article 9 ( 1 ) of Regulation No 171 /67/ EEC, free of levy, a quantity of olive oil corresponding to shall be granted for those qualities of olive oil in the quantity exported ; respect of which there is a cash refund on the day on which the application for that authorization is Whereas , when the second alternative is applied in submitted .' the form of a so-called EX/ IM procedure, it is possible under that procedure to import olive oil in respect of Article 2 which no export refund is granted and this is currently creating new trade patterns ; whereas This Regulation shall enter into force on the day pursuant to Article 9 of Regulation No 171 /67/ EEC, following its publication in the Official Journal of authorizations to import free of levy should be limited the European Communities.
